Snappy Shopper is the market leader in the growing Q-commerce convenience grocery sector, worth £41b in the UK. In addition to our independent retailers, we serve most of the major convenience store players, including Spar, Nisa, Premier and Booker.
Snappy exists to enable local high street businesses to serve their customers online so that local communities thrive, and revenue stays local. Retailers have seen revenue uplifts of between £5k and £120k per month, making the platform mission critical to local business.
Our location
We are a Scottish start-up with 120 colleagues based around the UK and our Head Office is located in Dundee.
This is a field-based role where you’ll be required to travel to visit clients (retailers) from across North East England. The ideal candidate would be based in the region ready to travel on a regular basis.
About the team
Our Strategic Partnerships and Sales team attract and engage the best retailers to join the Snappy platform. Using their knowledge of the sector, and what Snappy can offer, they can determine who will thrive on the Snappy platform and they work with these stores to ensure their success.
About the Role
The Sales Manager finds, engages and recruits the best retailers to join the Snappy platform. Working across North East England, this successful individual will attract retailers from across their market and sign on new stores by engaging with them to demonstrate the benefits of using the Snappy platform whilst ensuring that the platform will work for them.
The duties will include (but are not limited to)
- Help develop and own winning strategies that drives suitable new stores/hospitality businesses to Snappy Group to agreed weekly monthly and annual targets.
- Own and maintain a healthy and appropriate pipeline to drive quality new businesses for the platform.
- Generate own leads (outbound) in targeted areas to bring on stores that match or exceed our criteria using tools available, FB spread sheets, competitor websites, social media, contacts.
- Respond promptly to (Inbound) leads and referrals through various channels, including enquiry forms, phone calls, emails, and social media.
- Plan field trips around the best inbound and outbound leads to target other quality retailers on way to or in the areas you visit. Regular travel and overnight stays will be required.
- Input and update customer information, leads, and opportunities into CRM and ensure lead data accuracy by regularly auditing and cleaning leads attributed to you.
- Delivers effective sales pitches using company sales decks and other materials to prospective customers preferably face to face or if that is not possible, through a Teams meeting.
About You
To do this job well you’ll need:
- Real experience in selling into convenience stores.
- Knowledge of the retail sector (convenience stores)
- Demonstrated experience in a high volume sales environment (retail or FMCG highly regarded), with the ability to research, generate leads and secure business
- Field sales experience, including desktop analysis of potential clients, cold calling and pitching to retailers
- Understanding of basic financial formulas applicable to analysis of retailer costs and where value-add can be leveraged.
Ideally, you’ll have:
- Knowledge or experience of software platforms which impact the retail sector.
